Here we go this is what I plan on doing !!!
Desolder the channels off the control unit completely and sconnect them to the pins as you described.
I'm assuming ???? 6Y is the pwm negative so I'm connecting that to pin 6.
The dc input voltage on the illumination control will be 5vdc so I'll attach pins 1 to 2,3,4,5 with pull up resistors !!!
