    Aren't you destroying you powerbar this way, by switching every few seconds?, the wear and tear should be enormous....

    I just did a quick search but could not find traic switch life limit.
    But as it is solid state, it should not be an issue and I would expect it would be in the 10's of thousands of switches before failure.

    The powerbars I have seem not to be solid state, they say "click" "click", that means relay if I am not mistaken.
    So it is only advisable to do this "trick" with the Maxspect Gyre is you have a solid state powerbar.

    Yep, you are right, they are relay driven.
    I have the 6D and the 6DPAB in 240 V, and they are all relays.
    Is the 4 socket unit a relay driven device?
    They use a Schrack rts3t012 relay and according to the specs Rated frequency of use is up to 60 times a minute and a mechanical endurance of > 100 Million cycles.
    Should be OK I guess?

    Be a different relay for the 110V units, but I expect similar specs?
