Seems a disaster waiting to happen that it keeps active when disconnected?

That´s the reason why there is a Max-on-time.

In general, there are two possibilities for a switch is not plugged in:

Contact is recognized as closed. In this case a drain procedure will fail and empty too much - this is a problem but it will not cause real big damages if you have a secure drain pipe (not possible to drain to empty).

Contact is recognized as open (your wish) - in that case it would not be recognized if a fill switch is not connectet - this may cause a flooded living room.

I suggest, the first option is the less worse one ....

For sure it wold be possible to build up a system with on-of-unconnected state but it would need complete new hardware.

It can't be done through firmware; that if Profilux loses connectivity it defaults to OFF?

Or then maximum on-time should be separate for fill and drain.

Due this is hardware related: No, think it´s not possible.

    +1 on the Max-On-Time...

Would be nice to have a separate time for Auto-Top Off, AWC Drain, and AWC Fill

    Thanks

Can't you have the ATO and AWC on separate events? That way you can limit ATO to a small timeframe.

Also what pumps do you use? The fast the pumps can fill and drain the better since this will reduce your timewindow and potential for disasters.

I'm currently using 3 large dosing pumps for ATO, Drain and Fill. As for my AWC, I perform a 2-3 gallon change per day

IF I create a separate Control for ATO and a separate one for AWC; I belive this creates an issue. Lets say ATO is running (water above upper sensor) and its time for the AWC to take place... Wont the AWC Drain begin only to have the ATO filling at the same time?

Is there some way to setup logic such that AWC will NOT begin until ATO is finished (water at upper sensor)

Have separate event timers for both functions. ATO everyday at 12PM and AWC whichever day at 1PM for example.

Yes, however I would prefer to have ATO run as needed and not wait for a specific time

But that introduces more chance for failure. You can have multiple event starts for ATO 12, 3, 6, 9, etc. Then you can limit ATO max-time to 1 minute or 2 minutes.

For AWC you can have it longer like 15 minutes.
