    Default Firware update touch help

Ok I got my touch today and want to firmware update it straight away

What I want to make sure of is I am doing it correctly

So do I update the firmware as I would the Profilux with a serial cable?

And do I run the flash tool as I would when updating the Profilux firmware

I understand that only one Pab device,is,to be connected while doing a firmware update, I have never updated the Pab bar before so I guess do this first, will this need all the sockets re assigned after firmware update?

Once power bar updated un plug and then plug touch in and update again this is done by serial cable to Profilux?

I will be connecting the pab then the touch after it

Running Profilux version 6.10 and GCC 1.0.5.7

If some one could just confirm this is the correct way to do this would be great as I don't want a failure in the update and have sockets not running

    Any help would be great

    Thanks
    Maury

    Hello,

please backup your settings before you do any updates.
Unplug all PAB devices except the one you want update, make sure only the PAB device you want to update is assigned under System -> Configure PAB -> Assign devices in the ProfiLux menu.
Open the GHL Control Center and connect to your ProfiLux, you can use your serial cable or USB cable.
Go to Extras in the top menu and click "Firmwareupdate..." under PAB.

    Follow the instructions.

will this need all the sockets re assigned after firmware update?
Usually you don't need assign them again, but make sure you do a backup of your settings before you do any update!

Once power bar updated un plug and then plug touch in and update again this is done by serial cable to Profilux?

I will be connecting the pab then the touch after it
Yes, first the powerbar then the touch. Always only one PAB device connected to ProfiLux. You can use your serial or USB cable.

    Hello Artur

Thank you for the quick response

Just one more question, where you say the part about make sure it is assigned under system>configure Pab> assign devices in Profilux menu
I'm a bit lost here do I have to do this on the Profilux before I open GCC ?

I have already been running Pab bar so is it already assigned?

Also do I need to assign touch before firmware update?

    Thank you

Yes you do this in the ProfiLux menu, but you can skip this.
Just unplug all device except the one you want update.

    Artur

When you say all devices does this mean all "PAB" devices ?

Or digital power bars as well?
