Default Expansion Box gone after firmware update

    Hi
I updated my P3 to 5.17 firmware and mistakenly left the Expansion Box plugged in.
    It is no longer recognized.
Is there a way to reset the Expansion Box,or is it destroyed?

    Thanks

no, a P3 update doesn't affect connected PAB devices
    assign PAB devices again

I have tried assigning devices a few times but it still doesn't show up.
Thanks for letting me know that the P3 firmware update doesn't affect it. I'll check all my wire connections again.

I have tried assigning PAB devices, a PAB system reset and have checked all wire connections.
The Expansion box still will not show up.
Is there anything else I can try?

I just tried to update a digital powerbar and got the same result. The powerbar is no longer discovered by the P3.
When I tried to install the firmware update on the powerbar, I immediately received a message "error 28 lost communication"
I don't have time to wait for a reply as my heater and pumps are controlled by that powerbar.

I'm going to do a factory reset on the P3 and go from there.

The factory reset did not solve the problem.
I changed the P3 to firmware 5.16 then 5.15. The whole system worked fine before on P3 firmware 5.15.
That did not solve the problem
I have an extra digital powerbar that I have not used for a while, plugged it in and it worked fine and the P3 recognized it, so I transferred the settings to that and the system is running again.

The Expansion Box still does not work and the 1st power bar does not work. The green power light on the first powerbar is flashing quickly when plugged in.

It seems to me that trying to update the firmware on the Expansion Box and the first powerbar with the P3 on firmware 5.17 has damaged the Expansion Box and the 1st powerbar somehow.

The P3 is currently on the firmware 5.15 and I am hesitant to upgrade any further until we figure out what went wrong.

    Thanks
    Mitch

    Hi

the firmware on the ProfiLux doesn't matter. You can update to 5.17, this will not affect if and how PAB devices work.

In regards to the PAB units which are not working:

An emergency firmware is possible. Since GHL has until Monday company holidays we need to wait until our specialist can supply how to perform this update.

I reminded him, I expect an answer here on Monday.

First, please let me know what you've done exactly.
A firmware update at the ProfiLux doesn't affect the PAB devices at all, so this can't be the reason.

Second, please describe your connection for the PAB devices.
    For example: Powerbar-PAB#1 <-> ProfiLux3 <-> ExpansionBox#1 <-> Powerbar-PAB#2

I wanted to update my P3, Expansion Box and Power bar to the latest firmware.
P3 was 5.15, Expansion Box was 1.06, Power bar was 1.06
There are 2 ports for PAB on the back of the P3, 1 had the Expansion box, the other had the power bar.
I unplugged the power bar from the P3
I plugged in the RS232 - adapter - USB to my computer
I updated the P3 to 5.17 with no problems.

I tried to update the Expansion box next.
In Profilux software - update expansion box - do you want to update expansion box now? - clicked yes - "error no PAB device is connected, do you want to update anyways - clicked no

Tried to assign devices, the Expansion box did not show up. Tried PAB system reset, still no Expansion box

I tried to upgrade the Power bar next because it was still being recognized.
In Profilux software - update PAB device - do you want to update Powerbar 6D PAB now? - clicked yes - immediately got message "communications error error code 28"

Now the Powerbar is no longer shows up on the assign devices list.

I downgraded the P3 to firmware 5.16 then 5.15 but it made no difference.

Cable connection was: P3 - Expansion box on one port / P3 - Powerbar on the second port.

This is the best I can remember, I have tried many ways since then to try to solve the problem.
If this doesn't sound right to you, what actions could I have done to produce this end result?

Ok, your mistake: you don't read the message box before the firmware update at the PAB devices (disconnect ALL other PAB devices before the update)
The ProfiLux firmware was not the Problem. You can update the ProfiLux firmware to 5.17 at any time.

    Message PAB update.jpg

Ok, disconnect ALL PAB devices and connect only ONE PAB device for the update.
If in ProfiLuxControl the message ""error no PAB device is connected, do you want to update anyways" appear click to yes.

If the update succeeded, repeat this on the other PAB device (disconnect the previous updated PAB device).

If all your PAB devices are updated, you can reconnect and reassign the PAB devices.

    BTW:
What is the version number of your ProfiLuxControl software?
