    Default Room Temp

I read on Reef Central that the room temp must be at leat 3 degree colder. Is this correct. What happens when the A/C goes out in your house? They no longer work?

The PTC will become less efficient as the ambient temp gets closer to the tank temp. This is how Peltier systems work and not a restriction in the PTC design itself.

So if the a/c goes out and room temp increase to say 90F will it still keep the tank @78F?

no, I don't think so, the PTC was designed for a balanced heating and cooling, not for reducing the temp. 12°

this was misunderstood sometimes in the past and caused some trouble (much support efforts and unsatisfied customers), for this reason we stopped offering the PTC for aquatics
