Profilux Plus II communication problem

Hello,

I have a Profilux Plus II and Ai Sol lights but suddenly the connection stops working. Even the connection to the pc with a rs232/usb converter it´s not possible anymore... It says "error code 28".
Any ideia why is this happening?
It´s possible that the rs232 port failed?

we had this once in the past that the RS232 port (which is usually a very robust port) was destroyed through a connected AI
maybe a voltage spike through the lamp or the lamp's power supply
