Yes I have just finished installing everything on a native windows 7 machine. Absolutely no problems and both the profilux and Mitras connect. It definitely seems to be a VM/Parrallels issue.
FYI I could connect the profilux (using software 4.0-4.8) by using Parallels but just not the Mitras.

this is very weird, but this tells us at least that the Mitras (or cable) is not damaged
we and some customers are using GCC on a Mac (with Parallels)
I fear I can't give you a quick solution - can your work with your native machine to solve this issue for now?

Yes I have moved the computers around to use the native machine with the Mitras. FYI I was using a brand new Mac Mini with Parallels 8 if that helps at all?
