    Yes this is the only thing I have setup and it didn't work......I tried the test or it too and still nothing.....

    I believe you need to get a service center number. I think that's what's stopping you from getting a text.
    Hopefully Michael will answer soon.

    I checked the wife's blackberry and she does not have a SIM card either. Okay, would this also cause the red gsm light to blink at 1 sec intervals which means it is not connected to the net??

    Yes I believe so. Mine blinks red every 3 secs. Then all three lights are on constantly following the red one. Two yellow and one orange.

    Yes I have all the same as you except red gsm light blinks faster.....if you change your number to something else will it still blink slow at the 3 sec intervals or does it start to blink faster like mine?

    Yes. Have you tried rebooting the p3 and the SMS?

    No, I have not tried this.....I have only powered on and off the SMS model using the switch at back.....you think I should power off p3 too?

    Yes I would turn off everything. Then on again.
