I just bought on acquariumline.com a GHL Profilux II; I'd like to connect the Profilux II to the PC but I can't because my PC doesn't have an rgb input so I'd like to know if I can buy an rs232 usb adapter.

this is not a "RGB" port (I think you are talking here about the 15pole monitor port)
you need a "COM" or "RS232" or "Serial Interface" - meaning all the same, a 9pole D-SUB port which looks similar to the monitor port
if you don't have this port you need a USB-RS232 converter

Not sure where you're located but here are some RS232 to USB adapters we've found work great at least over in North America they do:
Keyspan High Speed USB Serial Adapter - Type A Male, DB-9 Male (this one is working on a MAC machine running Parallels so that says a lot for it)
Startech Pro USB-RS232 Adapter (remembers your USB port assignment which can be a nice feature)
