    Default Temp probe reading 38.7

    Hi,

I've set up a PIII and everything's ok except for the temp probe reading 38.7, it's in the bottom port, I've read this could be a connection issue, I've had it in/out a few times and a bit of a wiggle, but no joy.

The other thing is I have software 5.1.2.5, but firmware 5.11, do you think this is the problem?
Also will I need an RS232 to USB converter?

    Cheers

    the temp probe reading 38.7
It´s not connected correctly ten or the cable is broken

it's in the bottom port ...
... which is the right one .....

Unplug it and have a look into the male plug, maybe one of the pins is warped.

You could also try the function calibration in the temp. menu on the Profilux device itself (not via the PC-Software).
This recreates the factory calibration of temp in case you have made some settings too much (by accident).
If this doesn't solve the problem please contact your retailer.

Hi, I've contacted the retailer. I've been asked to disconnect for 24 hours, keep the probe in water and then reconnect. I'll see if there's any change then look at the calibration.
Also the current temp doesn't fluctuate always 38.7 probe plugged or unplugged.

    Thanks again

    what should this help?

if there is a hardware damage - either ProfiLux port or probe connector - it will not recover after waiting a few hours

is it plugged in correctly? means deep enough?

My thoughts exactly but I was asked to do so, yes it's pushed in far enough. Tried it a few times.
I will be returning the probe, hope it's faulty not the controller
