no email notifications from profilux

I am fighting for days now with this issue, but I cant get it done. I walked through the checklist as well, but i still do not get any email notifications.

My profilux is connected to the router through LAN.
Specially for this issue, i created a yahoo.com email account.
I switched off my Norton Firewall.
my settings, email notification:

TO: xxxx@yahoo.com
SUBJECT: profilux status
MESSAGE: check aquarium status
MAILING CONDITION: "ALARM" "JUST NEW"

my settings email account:

Domain mailserver: smtp.mail.yahoo.com PORT: 25
my name: robertvo
my email adress: xxxx@yahoo.com

Mailserver requires authentification:

xxxx@yahoo.com
"my password"

When I hit the test button, i do get some input at "Current SMTP-server-IP" = 98.139.212.139
But I dont receive any emails, also nothing in my spambox.
Also when an alarms occurs on my profilux, nothing is send..... What do i do wrong?

I believe that Yahoo only allows encrypted email connections (or its your ISP that blocks port 25 ) => unfortunatly the profilux can't make encrypted connections.

you will have to find an email provider that allows non encrypted send.

If I understand correctly.. and that's a big IF.... Yahoo has two levels of service. Free based and FEE based. In order to get SMTP support/use you have to sign up for their FEE based mail account. This may or may not be the correct answer to your question but I thought I'd offer it up as advice in case it helps someone else.

Mine works fine, settings:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com
port: 25

The weird thing is, it will only email to my yahoo account and not to other emails.

Above your password, don't put @yahoo.com - just put your username.

Set up a yahoo account and it works fine sending mails to my normal account..

What can you use this notification for?
I would like to get a mail from my system on a alarm state and tell me what the alarm is, also a once a day email with the parameters would be nice

Well, search is your friend here. Just did a search for alarm email and this one explains a lot.

This works well.

I think that you should be able to use a timer to initiate a email message with the parameters, but I have not tried this myself yet.

I am struggling to get email notifications from the profilux

I can connect to profilux from wlan with plc and can get emails from plc but can not get emails directly from the profilux

any advice here?
