if you make the screens you can always test the smtp by a telnet ( too verify connectifity ) ( its from your pc but still it helps debugging )

    assuming you run windows

    in a dos prompt enter

    telnet youremailprovidersmptdomain 25
    so telnet myemailprovider 25

you should get an answer from the smtp server exitting by exit or quit or just closing the window
this should work if plc email sending works but its just to be sure.

should you not have telnet ( you can install it via control panel programe windows programmes ( or whatever ) and then select telnet client.

in this case you should not use authentication on the profilux either remove the tick box
because it will not send it if its not needed.

anway I need to get up early so I'm off to bed

I hear what you are saying but I dont fancy posting my email details up

and at the end of the day, it works fine in plc and there isnt much to see

my mail server port is 26

    mail server is "mail.domain.com"

    name is "my name"

    email address is "me@domain.com"

authentification is "my email" and my password

cant be much simpler than that

If you don´t have done a type mismatch and also if you don´t use your own, special configured mailserver, I think the port is wrong. Standard mail port is 25

which BT are you using ?

and are you sure you saved your settings before testing everytime ( with our without authentication )?

I tested again on my P3 today and if I enable authentication > save > test > I don't get an email
while in plc I go get an email

so the small difference between plc and p3 is still there.

That is important, finally got my email notification to work after re reading this thread.

Next question is , what can you get emails for?
other than alarm over and new there is nothing much else.

none of the tokens seem to work .

All what´s possible with tokens like temperature, conductivity, redox, level, socket current, illumination level .....

    Of course, there is.

none of the tokens seem to work .
Then you have done anything wrong or an old firmware version. For me it works like a charm (FW 5.11).
Only little issue is the very restricted space for the templates
