Connection problem

Hi,

I am not able to connet on profilux unit via RS232 cable since I have upgraded motherboard on my PC.

My profilux firmware is 4.08 and I am using com 1 port to connect.

Please if someone can support me. Pictures are in the attachment.

I assume you have a ProfiLux II Plus... this information would really help

Maybe there is an internal connector for a serial connector on your new PC motherboard.
Otherwise the OS would not show you a serial COM port.
More information could found at your motherboards manual...

There are two other ways to connect ProfiLuxControl to the ProfiLux:
- USB (via USB to RS232 Adapter or PLM-USB)
- LAN (via PLM-LAN)

thx for reply, yes it is Profilux II plus, and yes there is an internal connector for a serial connector on my new PC motherboard. I have connected cable that come with my tower case to that com port. But, I have bought USB to RS232 Adapater Digitus and i can't connect to it too. What to do?

do you use the RS232 cable of the profilux ? a 'normal' serial cable doesn't work.

Yes of course, as i said it was working fine, until i changed my motherboard for the new one..

Be aware:
There are two versions of the PC motherboard to RS232 adapter cables.
You should use the right adapter cable for the PC motherboard.
If no adapter cable come with you PC motherboard, you have to purchase a compatible one from the PC motherboard manufacturer or a compatible one.

If you connect via an USB to RS232 adapter you have to:
- use the GHL RS232 cable for the ProfiLux between the Adapter and the ProfiLux
- select the right COM port according the COM port the USB adapter uses
