    Default ORP Probe

What is the shelf life of a new in box probe, never seen water?
What is the useful life of an in tank probe?

    Hello,

from our suppliers we have a guarantee of 6 months for our pH and Redox sensors. Usually, after a sensor has been used 6 to 9 months in a tank, the performance decreases. If you increase the calibration tolerance or/and clean the sensor, their durability can be extended.
If a sensor is not used in a tank but only stored, then of course the durability is longer than the 6 months...

For an oxygen sensor, the durability is much longer. When they are regularly cleaned, it can be up to 2 - 4 years.

I want to add that the life time depends on the circumstances and environment in the tank, especially with chemical probes like pH and ORP.
Outside the tank these probes "age" also, but not so fast than inside the tank.

In some cases they they even work for long times, here a comment from Tony:

For conducitvity probes we give a warranty of 1 year, but with correct care they keep working for many years. These probes do not age outside the tank.
