Default Redox showing 550mv without ozone!

I have a profilux p3 ex. The redox is showing 550mv and i dont even have ozone. The probe is brand new. Calibrated and when i put it in 220mv sulution the shown value is correct. I allso tried the probe in different places, same value. Whats up with this?

all redox probes needs to be calibrated a few times in the first weeks until it is working stable, the oxide must built up first

don't clean the electrodes - otherwise you destroy the oxide

Yes in fresh water you get a faster rate of change in readings than in salt water.

Ok but will the reading get better? 550mv can be accurate in a freshwater discus tank with no ozone.

anything above 500 is hard to sustain life the water becomes to sterile.

Drinking water has an ORP of 650mV and above to give you some idea.

Clean the probe tip by wiping it gently with vinegar and with tissue polishing it, but very very gently

recalibrate and then leave for a week to settle, the more you play with it the more you disturb the ionic field
