error after update

Hi I have tryed to downgrade (my plII ex) from 5.06 to 4.8 again ( because evertime the setting with the new version reset to standard) has anyone this problem) but it was hanging on the download. after ea few hours i desided tot cut of the power my pc didn't had any connecting with the profilux anymore. is there some kind of an emergency for this kind of problem and has anyone a link to find a solution?

There is the possibility to perform an emergency flash with the GHL serial cable (mandatory!)- you need a RS232 port or an USB<>RS232 converter.

items needed:
1- RS232 Serial Cable
2- jumper
3- FMC16LX.zip with FlashLX software

general approach (in simplified terms):
1- power off, open unit, put in Jumper is specified spot
2- connect unit to computer using GHL RS232 cable
3- powr on, run software per instructions
4- power down unit
5- power on, reset defaults

@GHL There is no description how to perform an emergency update with serial flasher tool in any of the actual reachable manuals nor is there any help inside the FAQ or inside the flasher tool file.

Is it that difficult to create two new questions (for PLII and PL3) and copy the steps from the forum to the FAQ or is it that big secret you try to let it go forget?

Yes, but you have to try, if it works (most converters with FTDI or Profilic chip will do so.

No! Only pin 1&2 should be used. Doing a little investigation I found a copy of the old manual:
