Imho; if you use it via an untrusted network (internet ,etc...)
the web interface should only be used for read only (user login)
or emergency changes ( admin user with changing the pwd , asap when possible went you get home )
the rss feed is save since it doesn't use a user
email is also 'save' but user /pwd is also in clear ( but that can be solved by using a dedicated/garbage email adress to do the mailings)
Why ?
the pwd /user of the admin page go in clear over the network, so if you use it via the internet ......
or you should use a vpn connection to encrypt the whole shabang then its save.

SSH functionality on the Profilux would make it a lot more secure.
My Aqaurium UPS hangs directly on the internet with a secure (SSH, shttp://) connetion.
So this makes it a lot more difficult to monitor the connection and to find out the login name en password.
I can check and control the UPS from all over the world.
I don't dear to do this with the Profilux..... The possibility of a SSH connection on the Profilux webserver would be really great.
So, if you guy's at GHL got some time to spare........ MAKE SSH ON THE PROFILUX HAPPEN
Greetings, Jack
Sorry, a secured connection (SSH or something else) for the web server or email isn't planned for the ProfiLux.
