Default UPGRADE PII to PIII questions

I have currently a PIIex and looking to upgrade to a PIII.
If I understood well you have to sent in the PII and you can't just order the PIII upgrade kit and install it yourself?
This seems kinda weird as my whole system (lights, heaters, dosing pumps, ATO) is controlled by the PII and being without the controller for 1-2 weeks is almost impossible.

If I would decide to buy a new PIII which hardware from the PII are still usable?
    Right now I have:
    • 2 level sensors
    • GHL 4x dosing pumps
    • Digital Powerbar
is this one still usable and what is the difference with the new one?
Can I use the OLD one in conjunction with the NEW one?

Which one (PIII or PIIIex) would I need to be able to control the controller from the web?

Sorry for all the questions but I am a little confused and don't want to do anything wrong.

    Thanks
    Michael

    Thanks for your quick reply....

Maybe you can resolve my 2 other questions also?
    • If they have both the web interface what is the difference then between P3 and P3ex?
    • Is it true I have to sent in the P2 for an upgrade to P3?

    Thanks again

There is acomparsion table at http://aquariumcomputer.com/System__...ontroller.html
It´s the same as between P2 and P2ex
Is it true I have to sent in the P2 for an upgrade to P3?
This is discussed often here. The answer is "yes"

    Forgot to say: A P2ex will become a P3ex (ex-parts are re-use4)
