    Default Programming a Thunderstorm

    Hi,

Can someone tell me (or show me an existing thread) that runs through setting up a thunderstorm step-by-step

    Thanks

    Hi,

    I assume you have a Simu-LED?
Then first connect your Simu LED to a free L-port, e.g. L1L2.
Under system/1-10V-interface choose for L1 (blue) and L2 (red) each illumination 1 resp. illumination 2 as function.
Under illumination/illumination 1 resp. 2 program an illumination run for each channel. Select dimmable as lamp type and
activate thunderstorm if you want to get the blue/red light darkened during a thunderstorm.
Under simulation/thunderstorm you can make the settings for the storm itself, e.g. when it shall be, how intense etc. - that's all!

i have 2 Simu Led sticks connected to L1/L2 with splitter. Using P3ex with PC 5.03. Ilumination 4(one simu) is checked thunderstorm and moon phase and Ilumination 5(other simu) is also checked thunderstorm and moon phase. both are setup for dimming. under 1-10v, L1 function Ilumination 4 and L2 function Ilumination 5. When i start a manual thunderstorm, i only see the blue light dimming with some flashes. I dont see the red lights. Is this affected by my dimming configuration of ilumination 5(sunrise and sunset)6am-0%, 6:30am 100%, 6:31am 0%, 5:59pm 0%, 6pm 100%, 6:30pm 0%???? is this a correct sunrise and sunset dimming setup? under thunderstorm i have intensity 10 and darkening 5%. where do u control the amount of lightning there is in a thunderstorm?? is that the intensity???thanks

Yes, by the intensity of the flashes you can set so to say if there are more or less flashes involved. You can also increase the effect by increasing the darkening of the other lamps.
Every time there are flashes, the blue and white LEDs turn on togehter automatically, so it is quite normal that you don't see the red LEDs during that.
If the red LEDs shall be on at the moment you start the flash, then of course the red LEDs should be on, too, but have to darken.
The time setting for the red LEDs are ok.

I tried changing the intensity setting to get more thunder lightning and I didn't see between the 1 and the 10 level. I ran the thunderstorm for 2 minutes and I only show one flash. Anything I'm not doing? The 2 simu sticks are the only lights on and I have set for darkening of 5 %. I still don't see any reddish.

I would increase the darkening to ca. 80%. Perhaps you can also set that both Simus react to all flashes. The flash is always simulated through the blue and white LEDs, never through the red ones.
During a flash the red LEDs will only be on if they are supposed to be on anyway - according to the illumination run.

as Carolin mentioned, with a darkening of only 5% you will not see much from your flashes

for testing: set the darkening to 100% and intensity to 10

    As Matthias already said

Go to the illumination run of the lamp that shall be off during the thunderstorm and activate thunderstorm under simulation there.
Then set the darkening to 100% in the thunderstorm menu.

    digging up an old thread...

I have the darkening set to 100% but my main lights (undimmable LEDS's) won't turn off. I have each set to simulation > the thunderstorm. Thunderstorm/lightning is working well, but the main lights stay on.

    Any ideas?
