    Default PIIEX 5.02g Upgrade

    Hello,

I'm trying to my PIIEX from 5.00p to 5.02g but getting an error. Only thing plugged in is AC Power to the Profilux and the RS232 cable. I'm using Profilux Control v5.0.2.5 for the upgrade. File -> Transmit from file to Profilux -> Select AllProfiLuxII_V502g.mhx, and it prompts me to download on the Profilux, gets to erasing firmware and errors out. The error is:

Error while transitting firmware!: FLASHERASE - No response -8

At which point the Profilux is stuck at 'Downloading Firmware' and I have to unplug the power to get it back to a normal state. Please advise.

    Thanks much.

Do you have a stable connection with the PC and PIIex before the upgrade attempt?

I'll try the flasher tool and post my progress. Thanks.

Stable? I believe so... RS232 cable is screwed in, laptop is powered by AC...

Success using Flash FMC16LX! Thanks for the jumper block nostalgic moment!

Is this something I need to do with future firmware? Or is it a fluke with my system?

I'm using a Dell Latitude D620, native RS232 port, Windows 7 Pro. Thanks again!
