Default 5.0.1 update killed profilux III

I updated to the 5.0.1, while updating the unit locked up forcing me to restart it by unplugging it and plugging it back in. Once plugged back in the unit will not turn on. It appears to be totally dead.

I'm currently without a controller so I'm having to control everything by hand. How can I address this problem. Its the first time I ever seen a software update knock out a unit. Any help would be appreciated.

    Default Continue to try

    thanks for the help

I tried the thread instructions with no luck, I got the same results as the individual in the thread. I tried everything with the exception of using a jumper since I do not have one. I will have to try again tomorrow. My computer does not have an RS232 port so if I can't get the USB port to work then I'm at a lost for words what to do.

Major setback for an aquarium needing controlling. But I guess its all part of the hobby.

buy a USB-RS232 converter so you can use the USB port from your computer.

Maybe a work computer or a friend's computer has a serial port? I had to bring mine to work when a similar thing happened. ( have since learned to unplug the PAB devices before updating the firmware )
