    Your'e welcome.

I downloaded firmware version 500m just now and it loaded successfully. But now I can't connect - error message 28! I am using version 5.0.0.9 software because 5.0.0.10 hangs up on me.

Installed version 5.0.0.11 to see if it makes any difference - did not. Continue to get error code 28 when trying to connect via USB.

    Remember:
if you take a different USB port on your computer it can happen that your computer assigns a different com port. Then you need to update the connection details.

in my case I get either com 4 or com 9 if I take 1 or the 2 usb on the front of my computer.

I have used just one USB port throughout initial install and upgrade process - kind of dedicated it. It is still coming up as com port 6 in the GHL program and in the device manager. Just won't go through, gives the error message.

    are we talking about PLM-USB or a third-party USB-converter?
