    Default Skimmer Cup sensor

    Hi there,

I have a GHL float sensor model PL-1889 that I want to fit into my skimmer lid. Is there a part available to extend the thread so it sits further into the skimmer cup?

Currently, the thread on the sensor doesn’t seem long enough to allow it to pass through the skimmer lid and attach the nut. Do I have the wrong part for this purpose?

If you don’t have parts for this please can you advise the size of thread so I can source the parts myself to make the sensor fit.

    Many thanks,

    CH

    Hi,

Although the float sensor can be used for this purpose, some DIY work will be needed for the exact reason you've described. Some users have cut the cable and run it through a ridged piece of tubing or RO tube with an inner diameter large enough to run the sensor cable through it. To hold the sensor in-place, take that tube and slide it through one of the holes in the skimmer cup lid. It should fit snugly.

In the end, you'd have something that looks like this:
