Profilux View II issue

Hi,

My trusty Profilux View II is displaying Chinese…. (see attached photo).

Could be this cable issue? Do you think if I replace it, it will be ok?

Wow, it's great to see a 15 year old product still out there being used.

Unfortunately for a product of that age, there may not be a repair option anymore. Replacing the cable may not be the fix as the display itself may be going bad. The cable only transmits the data. It is the display that translates that data into text on the display.

Bought it on 20/06/2010!

I opened the display, everything on board looked fine, no corruption or anything else. It looks brand new.

The issue is that the cable is 10€ and shipping is 20€. If I was sure that this was cable issue I would have bought it even if the cost was 50+€ since I really love the product.

It has the perfect size, perfect font type and I can program what I want to display, how often, it is easy to see the alarms, the reminders do pop up. Really great product.

On the other hand I don’t want to throw 30€ on the trash bin...
