Just to close the thread, my temp readings are back to normal.

one question is open for me - why did it happen?

Did you load the 4.xx sensor settings to the 5.xx firmware?
This is not possible because the firmware is not compatible.
In the next version of ProfiLuxControl I will add a protection against this, so it can not happen accidentally in the future.

Yes I did try and load my old settings back, I misunderstood when it said they would have to be entered again.

it seem you lost your temp.- calibration data

this can be solved in this way:
    - first ensure that the measurement range is correct (pond or tank)
    - open the version 4.xx sensorsettings-file with an texteditor (e.g. notepad)
    - search for the line with "CODE_SENSORPARA1ITEM2" - the value behind is ADC1
    - search for the line with "CODE_SENSORPARA1ITEM2" - the value behind is ADC2
    - now enter these 2 values: Click "Calibrate..." in the temp. section of ProfiLuxControl
