Default Emergency waste - tee to same tube as normal waste

    Hi guys,

I want to join the emergency waste tube to the normal waste tube via a tee connector. I'll be putting a check valve on the emergency waste so the waste doesn't go back up the emergency line. Is there any reason I shouldn't do this? I.e. will it cause problems - maybe a build up of pressure at the check valve?

    Thanks,

    Alex.

    Hi Alex,

This should be OK as long as both tubes are facing downwards and not submerged in water. The check valve should not be used as it may restrict airflow.

Ah, OK - the check valve is key as i've found the waste water goes back up the emergency line where the tee joins it to the main drain line. So i'll cancel the idea. Thanks for the reply
