Frage Pause Dosing - Empty/Full Container

    Good morning

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere, I have tried Google and forum searching with key words

I have a Maxi Doser set up for automating water changes with two water containers next to the tank.

Each night, Head #1 takes 2000ml out of the tank into a Waste Water container and Head #2 puts 2000ml of fresh saltwater back into the tank from a second container. This is set up to operate at the same time so that the water level does not drop, and is working well.

My problem is with the Alarm and Level states. I need the doser to pause dosing for both Head #1 and Head #2 if there is an alarm state caused by one or both containers being full/empty.

Currently, I have the doser set to Always On but the dosing doesn't stop when the waste water container is full and in Alarm state, so it just keeps taking water out and spills over the floor because the container is full.

I tried a Logic switch with "Alarm OR Alarm" which successfully turned the doser off when the container was full, but then I got a PAB Communication Error on the Doser and it was quite tricky to get it reconnected after resetting the alarm (and emptying the container).

Can you please tell me how to pause dosing on alarm state or empty/full container state?

    Kind regards
    Scott

Do you switch off the Doser if an alarm occurs?
Thats the wrong way, you should prevent it from dosing instead. Therefor, set a prog. logic with the normal dosing logic as input 1, Alarm [Inversed] as input 2 and the AND function. Then assign the prog. logic to a free switch channel and set the dosing pump to react to this switch channel.

Thank you for the quick reply

I have set that up and attached pictures of my latest set up

I'm confused how it will know to follow the dosing schedule? That tab in the dosing pump screen is now locked / greyed out

    Thanks
    Scott

To dose according to a dosing schedule via prog. logic, you must set a timer accordingly or configure another free dosing pump. The schedule of the dosing pump that should dose based on the prog. logic cannot be used for this.

    Okay thank you

I have created a dosing schedule on spare slots 9 and 10. I've then changed the two logic gates to use dosing pump 9 or 10 as input 1

Each dosing head is then linked to virtual switches which are operated via the logic gates

Ok, this should be correct then.
To achieve correct dosing times, please also make sure to set the flow rate and speed at 9 and 10 to the same values as for dosing pump 1 and 2.

Glad to hear things are working for you!

Feel free to post your PL settings for those who would like to use the dosers the same way.
