Default How to turn pH sensor controller off at night

I've searched for this question but haven't found an answer. I have the pH sensor controlling CO2 delivery to a freshwater planted tank. How do I turn the controller off (ie, shut off the CO2 solenoid) at nighttime? Thanks in advance

You can do this with Programmable Logic.

    1. Select an unused TIMER function, set switchmode to NORMAL, then specify the time-range for when the timer should be active.
    2. Go to the PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC settings page and select an unused gate.
    3. Set input 1 to the TIMER function you used in step 1.
    4. Set input 2 to pH probe.
    5. Go to the SWITCH CHANNELS AND OUTLETS settings page and select the outlet that has the CO2 connected to it.
    6. Set this function to PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC. Select the gate number you used in step 2.
    7. Save your settings.

The above will run your pH controller on a timer. Be sure to set the timer to the time for when you want the pH control function ON. Anything outside of that time-range will disable the pH control feature.

    Vinny,
Thank you! I followed your instructions and all works as expected.

Use the noctural change on the PH probe settings?

I believe nocturnal change only affects pH parameters but doesn't shut off pH control.

The noctural change option will not disable pH control. Instead it will temporarily modify the nominal value within the specified time-range. At that point, the reaction of the assigned CO2 socket is still dependent on the pH value of the aquarium which can swing differently from day to day. Adding in a timer function will allow the pH controller settings to run as intended, yet force it to turn OFF with a timer, regardless of pH value.
