Default What can you do if you don't like the KHD readings?

The KH Director measures exactly according to the prescribed procedure for determining the KH value by titration and pH measurement, we assume that the absolute value matches very well, provided that the calibration of the pumps and pH electrode was correct.

Surely there will be deviation from what one expects or has always measured, because the several ways we tested to determine the KH value showed a total difference of over 2dKH. We did a lot of comparative measurements.

So if you agree more to other measurement methods, you can manipulate the value displayed by the KH Director as follows:

-> change the calibration of the reagent pump

If the displayed value is too low then enter a smaller flow rate

Example: Value appears to be 10% (7.2 is displayed, 8 would be better) too small, then reduce reagent pump flow rate by 10% (for example, instead of 4.4ml 4.0ml)

we will add this personal offset in a later firmware, then you can save yourself the manipulation in this way

I have now added a new function to adjust the displayed value according to your own needs.
From GHL Control Center 1.1.1.1 and firmware 7.11 / 6.33 / 1.28 (updates will be released during the day)

Why is there this option now?
Not because we would not trust the value measured by the KH Director. In our opinion, the calculated value is very accurate, the measurement by titration and pH measurement with a pH electrode is probably the most accurate measurement method.
However, we and our customers have found that differences of more than 2 ° dKH between different measurement methods (test kits and photometric devices) are not uncommon.
The values of the KHD are somewhere in between.

So that the user can continue to work with the values he is used to, we offer the option to automatically convert the KHD result accordingly.

For this purpose, there is now the setting "Adjust displayed measured value", the KHD measurement result is adjusted as a percentage.
It takes approx. 1-2 measuring cycles until the displayed value has settled accordingly.

So: If you want to have the displayed KH value in a range you are used to, you can use this function, otherwise the default setting of 0% should stay as it is.
Basically, it's not just about absolute values, it's more important to recognize or balance fluctuations.

The new feature looks like this:
