Default PIN Configuration of optical sensor and float sensor

    Hi,

I need to make up a Mini DIN (PS2) splitter so I can plug in the optical sensor and the float sensor into Level 1.

Can you tell me the pimouts on both these sensors?

Do both sensors use 4 pins or 2?

    Thanks,

    Brenton

    Thanks Matthias.

I know I can buy them but I also need to get an extension cable as the unit is a fair way from the sensor. I figured if I knew the pinout I could make one of these also.

In this case you just need VTN-5 cable 5 metres long ready made and can be daisy chained up to 15 meters

I purchased a standard PS/2 mouse and keyboard splitter cable with 6 pins to use for Level 1 & 2.

I plugged the splitter into Level 1 and the optical sensor into the mouse port and the float sensor into the keyboard port of the splitter cable.

The problem I have is that whatever is plugged into the mouse port works fine but anything plugged into the keyboard port of the splitter does not register at all.

I have tested both sensors and they are working correctly.

What am I doing wrong? Is the GHL splitter cable any different to a standard 6 pin PS/2 splitter cable?

    Thanks,

    Brenton

Yes it is and if you use something that is not made for the Profilux your hardware can be damaged. (no warranty on such experiments!)
