Default Lighting for 180L freshwater planted aquarium

    Hi,

I'm planning to create planted freshwater 180 liters aquarium: 100x40x45 (Lxlxh)
    a) Mitras lightbars
    - how many would I need: I was thinking of 2 x 90cm

    b) Mitras LX-6000
    - would one suffice ? Or do I need two; in the specs it covers only 75x50 cm of bottom in High Efficiency mode
and 80x53 in High Output mode

    c) Moonlight
    - can this be achieved with either of the two ? Or do I need separate stuff ?

    Thank you

    a) I think, one is more than enough. I have a 100x50x50 with one LB 100cm @ 70% max. Power with no problems and extensive plant growth
    b) You only need two, if you want to boil your fishes In fact, one is ore than enough
    c) it´s covered from both. However, some people say it´s too much light for moonlight and use a separate simu for that.

    Thanks,

Would you recommend the LX-6000 over the lightbar ?

It depends on your preferences and your tank. The Mitras LX is only useful for open tanks without top cover.
It was no option for me due moisiture and energy loss but you may see that different.

I plan to have opentop either way; I guess LX is better in this case.
