Default Temp probe differences between P3 and Expansion Box

Hi, I have a P3eX with and V1 expansion box, both with temp probes connected. Until the latest firmware update to v6.27 the two probes tracked each other within 0.1 - for example when Temp1 read 25.0C Temp2 read 24.9C and this was consistent across the aquariums daily range up to 26.3C. Both probes are in the same location in the sump but since the firmware update Temp2 reads 1.1C above Temp1, nothing else has changed. I'm aware that I can adjust the temperature but wondered what else could have caused this change? Temp1 seems to be correct against a mercury thermometer, Expansion Box firmware is 1.07. Any suggestions? Regards, Andy

I had the same problem with my expansion box 1. I noticed the ADC-values was changed in expansion box (which caused the problem). As soon as I changed them to the same values as in the Profilux computer they seems to show the correct temperature again. I don't know if this is recommended, but would just like to say that I had the same problem.

I didn't take a note of what the original ADC values were for the expansion box but I would have thought they would be unique to the box and not the same as the Profilux main unit? Can anyone from GHL confirm or explain? Are the ADC values of the expansion box recorded anywhere? Thanks, Andy

Can I ask if I am following the correct procedure for requesting support from GHL? I have posted an open request for assistance 1 week ago with no response, I have asked politely for anyone to provide feedback and then again (politely) for GHL to assist, again with no response from GHL - I understand and have read the forum rules and appreciate that there is no support via PM so I am unsure of where to turn to for support? Regards, Andy

    Hi Andy,

it seems the original calibration data disappeared after the update and had been reset to default.
Or another possibility: The sensor order has changed after the udate and you reloaded the sensor settings.
Did you add/remove sensors or change the order (e.g. swapping EXB on the PAB bus)?

Each EXB comes with a paper where the calibration values are mentioned or they are printed on the bottom of the enclosure.

Did you save the sensor data before the update? Then the calibration data should be in the file.

If all attempts to find the calibration data fail then you should do the temperature adjustment.

    Hi Matthias,

Thank you for your prompt response. I saved both sensor data and settings (as I always do) prior to the firmware upgrade, although I generally only reapply the setting and tend to recalibrate probes. I've checked the settings file and have identified the ADC values for temp2 and the saved file has different values to what is loaded - the index is different too, the saved file has "CODE_SENSORPARA8ITEM2" and "CODE_SENSORPARA8ITEM3" for the ADC values but Temp2 is listed as "SensorIndex = 9" in GCC - strange as no other probes were added. Anyway, setting the ADC values back to the saved values now have Temp2 within 0.1C of Temp1 - success. Regards, Andy
