LAN Connection

I have in the past always been able to connect with my P3 through the LAN. I recently updated my computer, and since then I have not been able to successfully connect using LAN.
Is there a driver that is needed? Ive uploaded both virtual comm drivers, but still nothing. Matched the IP address, and the device numbers. even checked to see if there is connectivity on the LAN.
I update through USB and have been monitoring through this as well. But would love to get back to LAN for everyday monitoring.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Check the LAN Settings (best as fix IP) and perform a power cycle after stat.
Then the PL should give response to a ping. If not, check your network cables and the router.

Well, unplugged everything, plugged everything back in. Rechecked everything, and bing. Connected.
Maybe just a bad connection some where, but all is good now.
