PC crashed - can i just install GCC on another PC?

Hello, I'm using the profilux4 for about 4 months now. Sadly my old Dell laptop crashed (normally I use a mac) and I'm wondering if I just can install GCC on another windows laptop and connect it to the profilux 4. What steps do I have to follow? Do i lose my current settings? Thanks for helping me out.

Simply reinstall GCC and connect to Profilux. The data is on the Profilux, not in GCC.

Thank you very much! Just wanted to be sure nothing would happen to the settings. I will install the software today.
