Hi,
This previous weekend was the end of daylight savings and we went back one hour on Saturday....however, my profilux 3 did not fall back correctly.....I have checked for daylight savings, but it was checked to do this over 7 days.....is this the problem??
I corrected the time manually and changed the period to 1 day instead.....any ideas though why it did not fall back automatically??

how do you synchronize the time? time server or radio controlled clock?
Time server......I do not believe that radio controlled clock is an option here in Canada.

has the timeserver domain been resolved, does ProfiLux find it?
this is indicated by an valid IP next to "current NTP servier-IP" in LAN properties
I do not have any IP address in the "current nap-server-ip"
I have not setup my p3 to be connected to the net so I can access remotely through the net yet.....does this have to be done in order to get correct time?

I have got my p3 connected but I cannot figure out this ntp......do I use the same as my pc uses??

I tried to set my p3 to a different server than my windows laptop has but when I did this I was no longer able to connect to the p3 over my network.....the p3 got an IP address for the server in the "current ntp-server-ip" but would not allow me to access it over my network anymore.....thinking I need to allow it access through my apple AirPort Extreme router.....I connected to the p3 using rs232 and changed the time server to the same as my windows 7 is running and now everything seems to be ok.....

I just want to confirm......so, as I understand the profilux cannot actually auto adjust the time for daylight savings? It requires the software setup using a timeserver or a manual adjust?

Do you not find this a little pathetic for such an advanced controller..... The only clock device that did not auto adjust was an old grandfather clock we have.....even my alarm clocks will auto adjust......I find this to be extremely bizarre!! You may close this thread now.

There are two ways for your clock to do so - DCF77 or a date/timetable adjustment.Quote:

- For first case: A DCF77 module is available as addon for the profilux - so networkless operation is possible wherever DCF signal is available
- For second case: This is not capabable for the Profilux due it´s sold worldwide.
Daylight saving dates are different over the world (even between USA and Europe) and you can´t know where it´s used.
I´m sure a country-depended firmware would confuse much more than a not really accurate clock
Is your alarm clock also able to spread a time change over a couple of days, maybe a week, to have less effect to your fishes?
In my opinion this function is worth much more than an independent automatic time change
BTW: I know some people who never change the time for such kind of clock due the effort is highter than the result.

I do understand why this system does not have automatic change over and I can quite easily live without it. However I live in NZ and the NPT system does not work in our daylight savings. The PIII system does not allow 13 hours ahead of GMT as 12 is the limit (+12 being our normal time). Therefore when I do connect to NPT during summer it is one hour behind. (Perhaps another item to add to the already large fixes and enhancements package)
I do like to change the time on the controller as the measurement functions come through with a time stamp, so we can see when an event occurred! Now I am very used to moving around the world and adjusting to different time zones, but it helps if the P3 is set to the normal time where the tank is located. (My home)
So this is a bug report, I think. Due there are not that much customers from NZ, I think this problem (which is only relevant in your area) isn´t reported to the developers yet.Quote:

Maybe it can be fixed in one of the next firmware releases.
