Problem with SMS-Module
My GHL setup is ProfiLux Plus II (FW 5.10) and SMS-module (FW 2.01). The problem is that my SMS-module stop sending SMS messages, the yellow light is acting as the device is always initialising and the red light is blinking on a 10 sec period. The problem is not with the SIM-card. Can you help me?
Regards,
Ricardo Rodrigues

Hello,
I tried to update the firmware but the problem still persists so I send an email directly to GHL on Monday asking if I can send it the SMS-module so they could fix the problem.
Has anyone else had the same problem I have?
Regards
-
No. I was able to update without an issue.
Have you done a power cycle on your unit?
-
What do you mean by "power cycle"? I follow the instructions about the firmware update and everything went well but the problem still persist. Right now I can not send SMS or be notified about power outage.
-
Just go ahead and disconnect power supply from the back of the SMS and wait 2-3 mins then connect again.
Did the update went as planned?
Did it finish without any problems?
What software version of PLC are you using?
-
Did that and the problem remain.
The firmware update did finish with no problems. Now the firmware is 3.02.
I'm using PLC 5.1.4.3
I really don't understand what's going on with this device. I tried with 2 different SIM cards (from 2 distinct operators) and the problem still persist.

I suggest you upgrade to the latest PLC version.
If not contact Michael or Mathias for service.
-
Thank you for your help doggydoc10. I'm going to upgrade to the latest version but I think that is not the problem.
Soon I will post a video with the problem.
I did contact Mathias so I could send the SMS-modules.
Right now I have two SMS-modules for 1 week without working and I don't know what the problem is and I'm going to insist with Mathias so I could have my devices working again.

Sorry I can help you any more.
Another question I have.
Are you sure you have good reception in the area where you have the units?
Might have reception problems.
Also it might be worth checking on your PLC settings to see if the SMS settings are right. Post your screen settings here just to see if we can help further.

The reception is optimal and there is absolutely no problem with the SIM card.
