View Full Version : US Power Bar (110) and EU (220)
Hello!
I am interested in how power bars are constructed beyond difference in sockets for US, UK, AU etc. Will US power bar work with 220, i mean old model stdl-4-4usa/cd - will it serve under 220 if used with profilux plus 2 under 220? In fact they are just sockets with automation which are on/off by profilux body, or there are construction features for 220 and 100 inside power bar except socket construction?

Hello,
also the interior of the STDL4-USA/CD differs from the Schuko-version, not only the sockets.
Due to savety reasons, it is not recommended to operate the USA-version with 220V.

Thanks for the answer! So does it mean, that it will work nevertheless? I mean will it not "burn" immediately? i plan to use it for low power consumption devices under 220. is it possible?

NO the hertz rating is different. 50 versus 60

not good news. it looks i need two way transformations - from 220/50 to 110/60 and then from 110/60 to 220/50.

why not just buy a unit specific for your country. ie 110v for north america or 220v for europe

Maybe he wants to run a 220v power bar to operate something such as a 220v heater or pump such as an Abyzz. The Abyzz only comes into Canada wired for 220v.
Powerbar with us sockets works with 220. Inside it has relay 12 v/ 110/220. I have got it and tested it. The only difference are sockets.
