the drivers which our software need had not changed from ProfiLuxControl to GHL Control Center

can you use ProfiLuxControl?

So we are not talking about a GCC problem, you have general problems to access the ProfiLux in 8.x, doesn't matter if PLC or GCC.

So the usual questions to clear:
- driver installed successfully (see device manager - what does it show)?
- what driver are we talking about? Prolific or FTDI
- correct COM port set in PLC and GCC?

if it is Prolific then it is possible that the newest Prolific driver, which comes with win8, is the reason because this driver is BS
then use the latest Win7 driver

this topic has been handled so many times here in the forum, did you use the forum search?
