My light fixture contains 3 Tridonic PCA 2/54 T5 ECO dimmable electronic ballasts to control 6 T5’s. I would like to dim the T5’s using my ProfiLux but I’m not sure what the best approach is.

The ballasts use a digital signal (DSI) so connecting them to the Profilux 1-10v driver blank will not allow for dimming. Tridonic has a product that converts analogue 1-10v signals into a digital DSI control signal which might allow this to work. (DSI-A/D – Article no: 86453957) My understanding is that DSI is the same as DALI in terms of messaging but does not support the individual addressing of each light fitting.

Will the PLM-DALI card be able to dim the Tridonic PCA 2/54 T5 ECO ballasts or must I rather get the DSI-A/D unit to convert the 1-10v signal to a DSI signal for the ballasts.

Thanks

On the first look the Tridonic will not work with dali cause of this:

It´s an converter from DALI to DSI. But keep in mind, you need a PLM-Dali also.

The good thing is, you keep the 1-10V free for Pumps, LED...
