View Full Version : Light Acclimation Routine

Is there a way to start a routine for light acclimation of a new coral?

Set a variable in the code somehow to have the maximum light intensity capped at some percentage (say 60%), and have the cap increase over time (say by 3-5% per day) until the full intensity of light is restored? This would be easier than getting my arm wet slowly moving the new coral up from the bottom of the tank over time.

Even better, rather than a cap, would be a multiplier (of the same 60%), so that the lights follow the same intensity-over-time curve in a given day, just scaled downward.

Possible?

Is this a feature I've just over looked in the ProfiLux?

Is this possible to do with PL maybe? If so instructions would be most helpful.

I asked this not too long ago, and was told I'd have to increase the light intensity manually.
Would be a great feature to add sometime, imo!

This was discussed earlier in the German part of the forum.

Matthias replied that he is puting it on his to do list. But it has been some time since that.

Thank you Monty. I read through both and you're exactly right. This idea would solve the "Light Acclimation" problem.

Thanks for the link and the information.

Hopefully Matthias will update up as to the progress on this wish :)
