Assuming I use a standard light bulb connected to a 6bar, why can't I dim it? Em I missing something? Many thanks
Cause the powerbar has 6 switched sockets but no dimmed one. You have to use a Powerbar2DIM for that (connectet to a L-port, not a s-port)

Thanks Gunther,
Is that a different bar or just disconnect from one place and connect it in the right place?
Is that a different bar
Yes. See http://reefbuilders.com/2009/06/01/profilux-ghl-powerbar-brings-power-intensity-control/

R u sure about this? I read the that and it's for fixtures with ballast, what about just driving 50% power to the socket?

Yes.

It´s for ohm resistive loads like standard bulbs or heater. Use dimmable ballasts for tubes and LED fixtures instead.

Driving 50% of what? Voltage? Fequency? Power?
The Powerbar2DIM works with leading edge dimming. Most ballasts are not able to handle that.
