It was always going to happen! Even i am now connected, system visible outside and app installed.

Took 2 minutes and totally hassle free.

providing you have you controller networked and visible to the outside network it is very simple (I will add however that there is an ongoing connection issue that GHL are sorting out this week and uploading a new version, this is where once connected you get various reports of device not responding)

Putting that aside -

All you need is your IP address of your home and the port being used, typically the port is port 80

You also need your profilux's password which you should have set when setting up your system on your home network.

Just a thought, but if your router supports Dynamic DNS registration its a good idea to set this up. Your ISP provided IP address can change from time to time (particularly after a power outage) so its best to use a free service like DynDNS which your routers provides your external IP address to and you have a semi configurable user friendly web address. .e.g. http://magicamikes-profilux.dyndns.org for which you can configure your app to connect to. This way if your ISP provided IP address changes for whatever reason, your router updates your DynDNS account, your none the wiser and you can still connect to your profilux.

What is special about this procedure? This is the normal way you connect to your PL3 and app??

It is free, it allows you a 1 host service without charge. Been using it for about 5 years now.

Was free 5 years ago, not anymore.

Can you please show screen pics to set up the dynamic DNS in the profilux?

Dyndns is configured in your Wifi Router, not Profilux and each manufacturer would be a different menu.

There are still plenty other free providers out there: http://dnslookup.me/dynamic-dns/

Idd it was free... since last year you have to pay! :-(

However if you have a router or IP camera and register this product at the manufacture website you are allowed to register and setup a DynDNS account still for free.

Found you can join up under free trial for 14 days, and then if you cancel you still get to keep your host name. so all good
