This might by a notion if GHL were selling millions of units and every version of PLC they made you pay for (Up to ver 5 now aren't we), and they could make a billion in a year.
But as it is, I am happy to have a system that is reliable and upgradeable for an Aquarium.
The system needs to stay economical to keep from making the price uncompetitive and available for all enthusiasts.

There is a easy, independent way for the ones who want an email notification about firmware and/or PLV updates: Use http://www.watchthatpage.com/ and give the URL for the specific download folder as to observe

for PLII - http://support.aquariumcomputer.com/english/section.php?sid=5
for PL3 - http://support.aquariumcomputer.com/english/section.php?sid=7
for PLC - http://support.aquariumcomputer.com/english/section.php?sid=10
.... others for other sections
.... the main folder for general

Every time a new file is released, you will get a mail. There may be "false alarms" from a leaflet or an webmaster error, but you will stay informed.
