Buy PL3 from the UK and Using in Australia

I have someone i know that lives in the UK and has a PL3 that i can get.
Apart from the power supply and socket being different is there any other reson i cant use it here in Australia?

Are there any differences in the unit?
From my reasearch it would only be the power supply.
I understand about the warranty and so forth.

the only problem would be the country-specific plugs/sockets, but you could use adapters of course.
