What I have:

http://www.meanwell.com/search/eln-60/default.htm (the PVM version) x10
http://www.ghl-store.com/alu-leuchtbalken/led-steuerungen/ledcontrol4passive.html x2 (But only L1-L2 and L3-L4; Can I use Sockets also for controlling it?)

5 drives with blue and 5 drives with white 3w Cree LED's. (Total 120 LED's)

I don't get dimming function, but I get light on my LED's. I use a 5 V + from an old computer power supply on control V+ (which I recon is why I don't get dimming). I only need to control the dimming on the blue and white separate, no need for more functionality.

What's the best way to solve this?

Thanks in advance

Looks o.k.

http://www.ghl-store.com/alu-leuchtb...l4passive.html x2 (But only L1-L2 and L3-L4;

This two have 8 outputs in sum (not sure if two or more drivers can put togehter ->GHL?) Use an Y-connector if you only have two(4) L-ports.

Can I use Sockets also for controlling it?)

 NO - you also would not fuel up diesel if gasoline is out.

A correct wiring and programming. Without knowing what you have done, it´s diffivult to help

I can run 2 drivers on 1 output, which would give me 16. Guess I'll be needing a Y adapter.

I have wired the led in strings +-+-+- I have connected them to the profilux and a 5v+ control signal (And this was really the question, would 5v be wrong altoghether, even if I get light? I read other places I would need 10v to get dimming and control? The way It is now, I can't even turn the light on or off with the profilux)

I suppose it is correctly wired, according to the user manual of LEDControl4Passive and the MeanWell ELN-60-48P, but there is very little information so a fair bit of skill is needed I suppose.

I have wired the led in strings +-+-+-

That´s not related to the Profilux. If it´s works, you have done ith right

I have connected them to the profilux and a 5v+ control signal

Why +5V? Manuals for Meanwell and LEDContol4Passive says it clear: Use of +10V pulse-wide moulation.
So do witing it as shown on page 2 of the LEDContol4Passive manualand use a +10V power supply.

BTW: You may also need pullups as shown in the manual - see drawing at http://forum.aquariumcomputer.com/showthread.php?4113-Has-Anyone-attempted-to-connect-Meanwell-ELN-60-48P-drivers-to-an-LED-Control4&p=25678#post25678 and the last post of that thread

Would I need a 10v DC for each of the drives, and, how many can I run on 1 signal? I currently have 2 drives on a signal, but this is only 5v for testing without dimming. Could I even run 3 by a 5way wago?

Would I need a 10v DC for each of the drives,

I pointed you to the drawing where it´s shown. If you use the reccomended pullups, one is enought.

and, how many can I run on 1 signal?
For this question you have to ask Mainwell. There is no information about the current on PWM sine inside the datasheet. The GHL controller is able to handle 12mA as maximum. So it depemnds on meanwell if it´s one or more.

So, 1x of https://www.elfa.se/elfa3~se_en/elfa/init.do?item=60-245-36&toc=20096 for each of the drivers, and 4x 10v AC Power Supplys?

Thanks alot for your help Wirus, and sorry for asking stupid questions. I'm really clueless to all this, while I do have help from a friend, he's not very good with this type of electronics at all.

So, 1x of https://www.elfa.se/elfa3~se_en/elfa...5-36&toc=20096 for each

The value may be o.k. but why 10W? The max. power one resistor has to handle is 10V * 12mA = 0,12W
It´s signal, not power. I would reccomend 1/4W 1% metal film resistors (cheap and good for that).
If you want to spend mote money use 0.6W 0,1% precession resistors

of the drivers, and 4x 10v AC Power Supplys?

As said: One is enough. You don´t have power, only signal. One channel of the GHL controller can handle 12mA as max. so there could not be more than 8x 12mA = 0,096A.

Wirus,

Thanks for your input this far.

Would this do the job?

Really, 10V is very hard to come by here in Norway. Is there a substitute or would I have to order from china/us?

I don´t think it´s a good coices due it is far too big. It may have ripples at the needed minimale load. Use any standard switching power supply with 10V 0,2-1 A, not one wit 5A

Why would I get no control of the lights at all while using i.e. 9 V on the LC4P with the MeanWell ELN6048P, but it does actually light if I run it with the 9 V in + and - on external PSU?

Henrik

I got it working with 9V adapter and 680 Ohm resistor. However, I can't get 2 to work. (or 4). Any ideas?

And now I can get both 2 and 4 to work, but the dimming cuts too early :/
