View Full Version : What I will need to connect 6 Tunze pumps to Prof3ex?

I am thinking to replace the Tunze controller by connecting my 6 tunze pumps to prof3ex.
So, I will need 3 GHL ProfiLuxTunze1 wires, 3 GHL ProfiLuxTunze2 wires, 3 splitters and 6 Lines free. Is that correct?

I was also wondering what will happen if I program the pumps under the illumination menu to set them as a light, lets say: 0% at 07:00, 100% at 12:00, 100% at 19:00 & 0% at 22:00 (with min3V and max 8V).
Will that work?

all correct

if you set the 1-10V-output in question as a "light" the pump will follow the % of the illumination curve over the day

That's good news!

So if pump is under L1 as a "light", is there a way to speed up the pump in thunderstorm?

Matthias

no, this is only possible if it is a "pump"

Just connected 2 of the 6 pumps, will connect the others as I like the way I can programm them.

I order 1 ProfiLuxTunze1 wire , 1 ProfiLuxTunze2 & 1 GHL YL2-1 (1m) (PL-0096).

The splitter in the YL had white color and as I was trying to find out why only ProfiLuxTunze2 wire was working I found out that from the splitter only L2 was coming out.
Is this a mulfunction of the splitter or this is the way PL-0096 works?

I am asking because when I orderd GHL YL2-2,5 (2,5 m) (PL-0097) the splitter had black color & both Ls comes out of the splitter.

At the end of each splitter cable there has to be L1L2 at one side, L1L2 at the other side (if connected to L1L2).
ProfiLux Tunze1-cable will react to L1, ProfiLux Tunze2-cable to L2. For all lenghts of this splitter cable it is the same.
Please try again.

I did, it is a splitter malfunction.
I bought a new one and it is working fine.

O.K.

Just push feed pause (set to 5 min & pumps set to stop function when feed) & the pumps still working.

In fuct, the pumps (2 x Tunze 6105) do not seem to react to programm from profi 3

L13 & L14 has been set to current pump 1 & 2. (L13 & L14 is in the expansion box) with min 3V & max 8V.

Group 1 has current pump 1 & 2

Sequence 1 is choosen

Help?

What am I doing wrong?

You have set "no waves" under "Current group 1"/ Waves. If you set it to sinus waves, then the pumps will do the sequence mode,
otherwise they remain in one state. All other settings seems to be right. I have taken over your pump settings to a ProfiLux and started it.
As soon as I set the sinus waves, everything is ok. Also when I press the feeding pause-button, the pumps are set to 0% as it should.

If no waves is selected, the pump is in minimun or maximum set.

If waves is selected, the pump goes to maximum taking all the intermediate values from minimum to maximum.

Both ways, feeding pause do not stop them..

Can someone try theese settings to expansion box?

If settings are correct, maybe a expansion box bug?

Feeding pause don't work.

I can't read the details in your screenshot, too small

please post the screenshots directly here in the forum and not on another website

please first select the waveform (sinus or rectangle)

let us first clear if the pump settings are working correctly
what states are shown for pumps 1 and 2 in the table? are they activated alternating within 1...2 minutes and when they are active their state varies between the set percentages?

almost
13.11.2010, 11:03
Yes, they are activated alternating within 1...2 minutes and when they are active their state varies between the set percentages.

(At least, that is what the state shows, I do not know if actually happens).

I choose sinus waves ( I can choose no waves, sinus waves, right angled waves) , the same happens (no stop in feeding pause).

The pumps continiue to be activated alternating like before.

I am a little confused, I am not sure what the problem exactly is

are the pumps not following the actual percentage at all? or do they not switch off completely during feeding pause?

what happens if you do this test: assign the function illumination to the 1-10V-outputs and vary the brightness manually - do the pumps follow the set "brightness" ( = speed in this case)?

almost

I did the test, the pumps follow the set "brightness" (and when in min, they stop).

So the problem is that the pumps do not switch off during feeding pause.

almost

Did another test: connect pumps to 1-10V to profi 3ex (took the plug from extension box2 & put it directly to profi 3ex).

Programm the new 1-10V port, still feeding pause not working, pumps follow the 1-10 "brightness" set.

PLC version 5042
profi 3ex firmware 504a

ok, I will test this here

almost

Did another test: unplug the cable from Tunze 6105 & plug it to 6055.

6055 also does not stop in feeding pause (but follows the "illumination" set)..

Actually, they do not react in feeding command.

Whatever is choosen as a reaction to feeding pause (at minimum or off) they stay univolved.

so, I did many tests here and I can't see that there is an issue or a bug

I did this:
pump 1 has min 1% and max 100%
1-10V-interface 1 (ProfiLux) and interface 5 (expansion box) have voltages 3V and 8V, "pump 1"

then I measured the voltage on both 1-10V-outputs (both had the same readings)
no feed pause: alternating between 3V and 8V
in feed pause: 0V (when "off") resp. 3V (when "at minimum")

-> the output voltage was 100% correct in any case

I am not sure if the Tunze pump is supposed to switch off completely at a 0V control signal

can you supply the Tunze over a switchable socket in order to switch the power completely off (then use function "pump x" and set the check mark "pump completely off during feed pause" in the pump settings)?

almost

Well I could do that, but I have 4 x Tunze 6055 (4 x 18W = 72W) & 2 x Tunze 6105 (2 x 28W = 56W) and only one socket free in the one Powerbar 6D I have.
How many Watts can a single 6D plug hold?

I could also do this test, if you think it could help:

Plug one end of your cables, Tunze1 for instance, in Tunze controller 7095 (multicontroller) and the other end in one of your extension cables (instead of profi).
Then press the button "feed pause" in Tunze 7095 and measure the voltage in the cables (the colours) that you tell me.
Then we will know what signal makes the Tunze pumps stop when "feed stop" in Tunze 7095 is pressed.
And in the next update it will be fixed.

How do you find this approach?

almost
17.11.2010, 07:55
then I measured the voltage on both 1-10V-outputs (both had the same readings)
no feed pause: alternating between 3V and 8V
in feed pause: 0V (when "off") resp. 3V (when "at minimum")

-> the output voltage was 100% correct in any case

The 1% whould also work fine with me.

But in my case, when I press feeding pause, the state of the pump shows that the pumps continues the cycle between the min & max set value & they actually do.
If I tick "pump complete off during inactivity" then the pump will stop when in no activity.

I am sorry but it works here without a problem

when I press ESC the percentage drops to 0% in PLC, I used exactly the settings I saw on your screenshots
2 pumps, sequence 1, 1...2 minutes
sinus waves 10s
pumps during feedpause off

could you give us a summary of all the relevant settings, I am sure we oversaw something

For the first time I saw FP flashing and was wondering what is that.

Feeding Pause works great, the pumps actually stop!

I reconnect & reprogramm pumps, "update" with the same version.

The symprom was like ESC wasn't pushed (I was pressing ESC from the remote control of the PLC).

I know I should go step by step to find out what was causing the problem, but I was very anxious about the problem since 6105 are very powerfull and whould really like to stop them when feeding pause.

But I am very glad, once again thaks Matthias for you time & help!
