Hi Chaps

I am in the process of setting up 2 dimmable T5's as supplemental lighting to my current AI lights (The spread of the AI units isn't quite enough for the width of my tank). I have purchased all the goodies except the GHL driver bit.

I have purchased a DALI and/or 1-10V compatible ballast (OSRAM - QTi DALI 2x28/54 DIM), and have the option of choosing either of these dimmable driver blanks.

Should I be going with a GHL DALI Driver or the Plain 1-10V Driver? What are the benefits? And has the DALI driver been implemented in the Profilux software yet? And are the L Ports used to control the DALI driver?

Look forward to the replies.

Regards
Robbie

The DALI Software should be ready very soon and no, L-Ports can not used as dali interface there will be a PLM-Dali you will have to buy and put it in one Slot of the Profilux.
Mostly even a ProfiluxPlus II ex with an PLM-4L Card that can handle up to 10 L Ports is not enough for connecting every gadget that needs a L-Port. So my tip is to save the L-Ports for anything else and use the dali interface.

Dali
pro: wireing much easier, can handle up to 50 different drivers, autooff at 0% build in
contra: a bit more expensive

1-10V
pro: 1-10V on board of Profilux, no PLM... needet, a little cheaper than dali even if you buy the evg-ap thar you need for a diy lamp for autooff at 0%
contra: you only can have 10 L-Ports (why waste them)

There are a few more pro an contra for each type but these are the main once.
