Profilux II to pc connection

Hi I have got a profilux II with firmware 5.00m and have downloaded profiluxcontrol 5.0.0.12, i am using a rs232 to USB converter, this has a prolific chipset and i have tried the drivers on this site as well as the latest drivers for the device.

Everytime i press connect i get a communications error! Error code: 28

i was wondering how i can overcome this to connect via my PC and setup my profilux via the the PC

wasn't there a driver shipped with this converter?

i have tried this, its a prolific chipset, i dont have the cd that came with the device but am using the latest drivers from the prolific website. It appears to work correctly and is setup as com port 4.

just to be sure: you did the correct connection settings in ProfiLuxControl?

i believe so, i matched the com ports and have tried with rs485 enabled and disabled

try to change manualle the COM-port number

if you did this and followed all hints regarding USB conenctions then there is only one option left: this converter is not working correctly - maybe you can try another one?
