ProfiLux ll light's PC interface

Dear Matthias,

May I know whether normal off-the-shelf RS232 to USB cable can it be used to interface the PII light to notebook? or do I need specially buy from GHL?

I prefer to program all the setting by interfacing with notebook rather than using the control panel itself.

Please advice.

serial cable needs to be the profilux one.

serial -> usb convertor can be anyone , but some work better then others.

Do you have the link for getting the cable and convertor from GHL?

btw, Is it normal for PII light's control panel Key button's light not fully brighten/lighted up?

Hi all,

Just got my Profilux-ser cable and USB to Serial conventer so next step is to download the ProfiLuxControl, Version 5.0.0.12 from GHL website. Am i right?

this depends on the firmware in your ProfiLux Light

for a firmware 4.xx you will need ProfiLuxControl 4.xxx

My PII light's version is 5.00p.

Btw, I've have difficulty in understand the operation instruction manual provided. Do you have any step by step setup instruction manual or help link that I can read?
